SafetyShades™ was developed specifically around the realities of correctional environments. Rather than approaching institutional eyewear as an ordinary consumer product, our solution considers the broader needs of the facility, its staff, its medical team, and the individuals requiring vision support.
Our goal is to provide facilities with a practical eyewear program that fits more naturally into correctional operations while supporting appropriate optical care.

Correctional environments introduce safety considerations that ordinary consumer eyewear is not typically developed around.
An institutional eyewear program must work within real facility procedures, staffing, inventory, ordering, and day-to-day operations.
Facilities must also support legitimate vision needs while coordinating appropriately with medical and optical professionals.
SafetyShades™ was developed specifically with correctional environments in mind rather than adapted from a traditional consumer eyewear program.
Different facilities and individuals have different vision needs. SafetyShades™ supports multiple program options so facilities can implement an approach appropriate for their operations.
The SafetyShades™ model separates general facility ordering from confidential optical information, helping create a cleaner division between administrative and clinical responsibilities.
Authorized facility personnel submit the operational information needed for SafetyShades™ to identify and manage the order.
SafetyShades™ reviews the general order before authorizing applicable optical work to proceed.
Patient-specific prescription and confidential optical information is handled separately through the designated optical provider rather than through the general SafetyShades™ order process.
Once the applicable order is approved, the optical provider can complete the required optical work through the established fulfillment process.
SafetyShades™ works with facilities to understand their intended program and establish an appropriate ordering and implementation process.
General facility ordering remains structured so SafetyShades™ and the facility can appropriately manage program activity without requiring unnecessary access to confidential clinical information.
Our team remains available to support participating facilities as their program develops and operational needs evolve.
A demonstration gives your team the opportunity to examine SafetyShades™ firsthand, ask questions about the available programs and operational process, and discuss how the solution could fit within your facility’s current procedures.
Correctional and institutional professionals interested in evaluating SafetyShades™ can review the product directly with our team during a facility demonstration.
